Therapy
SAVA therapists are here to help.
SAVA Center provides individual and group therapy for survivors of sexual violence ages three and up, as well as their loved ones, at no cost to the survivor or their loved ones. Therapy offered at SAVA is trauma-focused, meaning therapy services concentrate on addressing the specific ways in which sexual violence has impacted your life.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy at SAVA is client-centered and trauma-informed manner and SAVA therapists are invested in working with each client to find what works best for them, and seek to create a safe space to help clients process the trauma when they are ready. Clients engaged in individual therapy are typically seen on a weekly basis with in-person and telehealth options. Individual therapy is offered to clients ages 3 and up, with play therapy available to children ages 3-9.
Survivors of sexual violence can receive up to one year of individual therapy. Non-offending loved ones, including family members, partners, and friends of survivors, can receive up to six months of individual therapy.
Group Therapy
Beginning in May 2026, SAVA offers weekly processing groups for female identifying survivors ages 18+ at both our Larimer County and our Weld County offices. For more information about these groups, please schedule a therapy interest phone call.
Additionally, SAVA offers Foundations of Support, a one-time support workshop for loved ones of survivors. Foundations of Support is designed to equip loved ones with information and skills so they can effectively support the survivors in their lives and care for themselves as secondary survivors. If you or someone close to you would benefit from these workshops, call the Fort Collins or Greeley office to learn when the next workshop will take place.
How do I access SAVA’s Therapy Services?
-
The therapy interest phone call is used to collect basic information from you, and to provide you with information about SAVA therapy services. If SAVA therapy services align with your needs, then you will be added to a consultation waitlist.
Mandated reporting disclaimer: SAVA therapists are mandated reporters. Be advised that if you contact SAVA’s therapy team, information you share may require us to make a mandatory report to the appropriate authorities. Please see below for additional information on mandated reporting.
-
As soon as there is a therapy opening, a member of the clinical team will call you to schedule a consultation. If the available appointment time(s) do not work for you, you will remain on the consultation waitlist until there is another opening that works for you.
-
During the consultation, you will be asked to share some information about yourself and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. Consultations help us determine if SAVA’s therapy services would be a good fit for your needs.
-
At the end of the consultation, if SAVA therapy seems to be a good fit for your needs, you will schedule an intake to start treatment.
If SAVA therapy does not seem to be the right fit for you, the clinical team will provide you with referrals to local providers who may be a better fit.
The SAVA Center does not offer mental health crisis services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or need immediate mental health support, please call 911 for your nearest emergency department, or use one of the following resources:

It is important to SAVA to ensure that all clients receive the services that are appropriate for their needs. A consultation offers time for a therapist to learn about you to determine if SAVA therapy services are the right fit for you. In this hour-long no-cost appointment, one of our therapists will meet with you and ask you questions about yourself and what you are looking for in therapy. The therapist will also provide you with information on what SAVA therapy looks like. The two of you together will determine whether SAVA therapy could be an appropriate fit for your needs.
If SAVA therapy is not the best fit for you, we will provide you with referrals to other providers in the community who could be a better fit.
If you have Medicaid or Crime Victim’s Compensation for therapy, please bring your Medicaid and/or CVC information to the consultation appointment.

One of SAVA’s policies is to not duplicate individual therapy services. This means that we will not provide individual therapy to someone while they are also participating in individual therapy with another therapist. Clients are welcome to receive therapy elsewhere while on the SAVA therapy waitlist. Additionally, clients can still receive group, couples, or family therapy outside of SAVA while receiving individual therapy at SAVA. There are no restrictions on outside therapies for clients engaged in group therapy at SAVA.
